HARRIS COUNTY MUD 504

The safety and security of our community is of the utmost importance to the Harris County MUD 504 Board. Because of this, at the March 2023 regular meeting, the Board unanimously voted to increase the number of patrol and security officers in The Groves. This increased law enforcement presence will be a visible deterrent to potential wrongdoers as well as provide residents with an increased sense of security.

Corporal Waldo Alvarez is in his 13th year of law enforcement and has spent the last 8 with the Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4. He has worked in the Atascocita area of Harris County during this entire time and has become well acquainted with the neighborhoods, schools and residents of the area. Corporal Alvarez has been a patrol supervisor for nearly 5 years and began working in The Groves in November of 2022. Additionally, he has been a Field Training Officer for Pct. 4 for over 6 years. Before becoming a police officer, Corporal Alvarez served in the United States Army as an Infantryman for nearly 9 years and deployed several times to Iraq and Afghanistan for combat operations in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Corporal Alvarez enjoys spending his time off with his 3 children, ages 1, 3, and 6, and his wife of 9 years.

Deputy Gerardo Gutierrez started his career in criminal justice in 2018. He always knew that he wanted to protect and serve the people that were not able to help themselves. Deputy Gutierrez worked as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice before becoming a police officer. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Deputy Gutierrez decided to change his career and pursue law enforcement. He attended Houston Community College where he successfully completed the police academy. He was hired with Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4 in 2021 and is currently assigned to MUD 504. Deputy Gutierrez is a Houston native. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling the world, and listening to music. Deputy Gutierrez is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and aspires to promote and continue to advance his career in law enforcement.

Deputy Kristen Holmes started her law enforcement career earlier this year with Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4. She wanted to follow her late father’s footsteps and become a police officer. Her father was a City of Houston police officer who died in the line of duty in 2001. Prior to getting into law enforcement, she worked for five years at Humble ISD. Deputy Holmes also worked for seven years with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer assigned to their mental health unit. Deputy Holmes is assigned to the MUD 504 contract and is enjoying getting to know her community. Outside of work, her hobbies are working outside in the yard and taking walks in the great outdoors. HCMUD 504 hopes this increase in security in The Groves will put residents’ minds at ease. If you see the officers out in the District, be sure to give them a wave to let them know their activity and presence is appreciated!
