Residents traveling along Madera Run Parkway may have noticed a brighter, safer commute thanks to the recent installation of new streetlights along a previously dark section of the roadway.

After several residents expressed concerns about the lack of lighting, the Board of Directors of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 504 (HCMUD 504) investigated and discovered that streetlights had not been installed along portions of Madera Run Parkway constructed by Harris County. To ensure consistent lighting and improved safety throughout the community, the Board authorized completion of the missing lighting improvements.
BGE, the District’s engineer, coordinated with CenterPoint Energy to design and install the new lights. Design coordination began in August 2024, and construction was completed in September 2025. In total, CenterPoint installed 47 new streetlights at a project cost of $113,644.00.
Prior to installation, the District coordinated with The Groves HOA to review the proposed lighting layout and confirm agreement to assume the lights under their existing streetlight account. This collaboration ensured a seamless transition for ongoing billing responsibilities once construction was complete.
These enhancements not only improve visibility for drivers and pedestrians but also reflect HCMUD 504’s ongoing commitment to resident safety and neighborhood quality.
